Are you the government?
No. ParkPassDirect is a private company, not affiliated with the National Park Service or any agency. The government decides who qualifies and issues every pass. We help you prepare.
Can I get the pass without paying ParkPassDirect?
Yes, and we show you how. Your result includes the official links: in person at a federal recreation site, online at Recreation.gov, or by mail from the USGS Store. You pay the government only.
What am I paying for?
Expertise, clarity, and application preparation — not access to a government benefit. You pay for a personalized Pass Plan, documentation guidance, readiness review, and support through the official process. The federal pass price is separate and paid to the government.
What if my application is turned down?
Follow your Pass Plan, and if the agency still says no, we refund our service fee in full. Email us the decision and the refund goes back to your card.
Does a diagnosis automatically qualify me for the Access Pass?
No. A diagnosis alone does not determine eligibility. The federal program focuses on whether a medically determined permanent disability meets the applicable functional-limitation standard — such as walking, seeing, hearing, or breathing. It does not need to be a 100% rating.
What documentation does the Access Pass require?
Photo ID, plus one of three things: a letter signed by a licensed physician saying the disability is permanent, that it severely limits daily life, and how; a federal disability document from the VA or Social Security (SSDI or SSI); or a state agency document such as vocational rehabilitation.
A disabled parking placard or plate is not accepted. Do not email medical records to us — document review uses a secure upload when available.
What does the pass cover?
Entrance and standard day-use fees at more than 2,000 federal sites, for everyone in your vehicle, or you plus three adults where fees are per person. Senior and Access passes can also take 50% off some camping and amenity fees.
It does not cover reservations, tours, or concessions, and it is not valid at state parks.
How long does it take?
Starting takes about a minute. After Concierge checkout, your personalized Pass Plan is available immediately. Additional document review happens when needed. Most in-person sites issue the pass the same day you walk in. Ordering by mail takes about three weeks.
What happens to my information?
Pass Finder answers stay in your browser until you submit a form. We never sell personal information. Answers about disability are treated as sensitive and are masked before any advertising tool sees them. We do not ask you to email medical records. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. Privacy policy
Can veterans use this?
Yes. Every U.S. veteran can pursue the Military Lifetime Pass free with one accepted ID: a Department of Defense ID, a Veteran Health ID Card, a Veteran ID Card, or a veteran mark on a state driver's license. Gold Star families qualify with an official voucher. Final issuance is always by the federal agency.
